Not much is left to say about the famous Arsalan, just the name itself is enough to invoke your taste buds. Their Biryani for me is the perfect example of a Kolkata Biryani, especially the Mutton one. The meat is so tender, the rice flavorful and that lovely potato is an additional blessing. Your trip to Kolkata is incomplete without a visit to Arsalan.

Restaurants can indeed charge more than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for bottled water, thanks to a Supreme Court ruling. This decision acknowledges that eating out involves more than just buying food and drinks - it's also about the experience

If you’re in Mukundapur and craving Mughlai magic, Arsalan Mukundapur is your go-to destination. Known for their rich Kolkata-style biryani, this outlet doesn’t disappoint with its generous portions, aromatic rice, and melt-in-the-mouth mutton or chicken. The meat is succulent, the potato perfectly spiced—a hallmark of Arsalan’s signature biryani. The ambience here is clean, air-conditioned, and surprisingly family-friendly for a Mughlai joint. Their chicken chaap and kebabs pair brilliantly with butter naan. Service is quick, and the staff is attentive without being overbearing. Pricing is mid-range and totally worth the indulgence. For solo diners or couples, the half biryani with chaap combo is both satisfying and economical. In this Arsalan, there was a couple allegations that they sometimes provide stale foods, but that is very rare case and once informed they will provide alternates. Tip: Ask for the "extra aloo" in your biryani—it’s not on the menu, but regulars know it’s available. Although they are charging it now separately. Also, visit during weekday lunch hours to avoid the weekend rush and get freshly made batches.

Good Food. Service was awesome. Even there was a huge queue , due to mother's day and how the management handled is awesome. Waiters coming up and saying " How is the food " ? They have even asked the kids are you happy with the size of the mutton pieces.. took the experience to next level.

One of the top and most popular biryani spots in Kolkata! During my 5-year stay in the city, I’ve tried this place countless times—and the taste has always remained consistent, whether it’s dine-in or delivery. Even now, whenever I’m back in the city, I make sure to visit—and it still has the same amazing taste and vibe. My all-time favorites are the Chicken Biryani, Tandoori Roti, Mutton Bhuna, and Chicken Makani. The place is always packed, even on weekdays, which speaks volumes about its popularity. Definitely recommended!
